Getting your business found online in Tempsford

Tempsford has one of the more unusual histories of any village in this list, which is worth knowing even if it has nothing to do with getting found on Google.

During the Second World War, RAF Tempsford was used by the Special Operations Executive to fly secret agents into occupied Europe under cover of darkness — a genuinely significant piece of history for a village this size, and one that still draws the occasional history-minded visitor to the area even now the airfield itself is long gone.

Day to day, though, Tempsford runs like most small Bedfordshire villages near the A1: a mix of longstanding residents and newer arrivals drawn by the transport links, few of whom are searching for the village by name specifically. Most local search around here happens under "Sandy" or "Biggleswade," since that's where people mentally place the area even when the business they need is actually based in Tempsford itself.

If that's you, the fix is straightforward: make sure your Google Business Profile's service area explicitly includes the nearby towns, not just Tempsford, and mention them naturally on your website too. It's a small technical detail that makes a real difference to whether you actually show up for the searches happening around you.
